The Irrigation Manager is responsible for all irrigation operations within the specified branch. This includes directing and scheduling technicians, staff and resources towards providing quality, cost-effective irrigation services to clients. The manager is responsible for providing updates to the branch manager and may be required to interact with customers from time to time. Essential to this role is the ability to build and lead the irrigation team to improve service delivery, culture, and growth in technical ability. The irrigation manager is a leadership position with the expectation that time will be spent in the field with the irrigation technicians to assist with trouble shooting, major repairs, and customer meetings.
o Supports the Account Manager(s) in estimating, design and client meetings as needed regarding irrigation design and installation.
o Sell irrigation services to clients, with or without base maintenance contracts, on their own.
o Oversee a commercial landscape portfolio and multiple technicians and staff.
o Responsible for training and developing these individuals and providing day-to-day operational scheduling and guidance.
o Understanding client needs via regular communication with the Account Manager(s)
o Manage all irrigation services, including the coordination of all materials, people, equipment, and subcontractors required to produce quality work.
o Inspecting properties prior to scheduled service in order to properly prepare specific action plan for service.
o As necessary, performing hands-on work with crews to meet work and scheduling demands.
o Working with the Branch Manager to identify staffing needs, hire new crew, and prepare daily crew schedules.
o Ensuring proper paperwork is completed for all employees.
o Hands-on training and support of crew members, including proper operation of equipment, techniques, safety, and quality standards.
o Maintaining and managing all required administrative systems, including but not limited to time sheets, job databases, and service schedules.
o Ordering materials as needed and monitoring costs and deliveries.
o Assisting the Branch Manager in the performance of irrigation sales tasks as required.
o Minimal 10 years of irrigation service experience
o 5 years of supervisory experience of a team of 2-5 minimal
o Experience with smart irrigation systems a plus, specifically Hydropoint, Baseline, Hydrawise, etc
o Irrigation certifications a plus but not required
